Еще одна неделя пролетела: был фестиваль цыганской музыки, где небыло ни одного цыгана, был ужин у только поженившихся друзей, был Бродвей, был пикник, где мы случайно нашли букет завядших роз и сожгли его на костре, мы загорали на крыше моего дома и опять создавали искусство, мы пели под гитару на 25 этаже с видом на East River и не спали до 10 утра..., но я опущу в этот раз все детали и расскажу вам историю, которая собиралась в нить уже две недели. Когда, два выходных назад, ко мне обратился мой друг Стивен и попросил меня быть судьей на фешн-шоу на его ежегодной вечеринке, May Party, я заколебалась, так как не хотела бы быть официальным судьей чужого стиля, однако, когда мне рассказали о теме вечеринки я просто не смогла не согласиться! Great Gatsby! Девушка, с "небольшой" обсессией на тему гламурных 1920'х, не смогла устоять!


Another week flew by: there was a gypsy music festival, with not a single gypsy in sight, there was a dinners with my just-married friends, theater on Broadway, there was burning a bunch of roses at an open camp fire, that we found during a picnic, we made more art and sunbathed on my rooftop, we sang to a friend's guitar up up the 25th floor with a view on the East River and stayed up until 10 am..., but this time I will skip the details to tell you a story two weeks in the making. When, two weekends ago, my friend Steven asked me to coordinate a fashion contest during his Annual May Party, I was a bit hesitant, because I simply hate being an official judge of anyone's style, however when the theme was revealed to me, I couldn't say no. Great Gatsby! A girl with a bit of an obsession for the glamour filled 1920's, simply can't resist this much fun!

Самое сложное это начать текст, где мысли- слова, а поток эмоций выливается в строки и ты уже не знаешь, где их начало, а где конец. Ты чувствуешь каждую букву, но сложить их в слова трудно, как плыть против течения: вроде знакомая стихия, но не поддающаяся тебе на данный момент, бросающая с одной волны на другую и тебе ужасно нравится это ощущение, хоть ты и совсем понимаешь, что с ним делать. Если ехать по городу на скорости с открытым люком в солнечный день, когда лучи еще не прогрели воздух, но тепло уже чувствуется у тебя на коже, ехать и петь в голос любимую песню, которую слышишь всего второй раз, но уже знаешь, что она станет саундтреком выходных или лежать на траве, щурясь на солнце, видя его свет через закрытые веки, сквозь сон чувствовать горячее дыхание у себя на шее, смотреть в глаза и видеть душу- ты все знаешь, но слова кажутся недостаточно сильным инструментом для выражения этих чувств. И ты просто смотришь в глаза и видишь душу, вдыхаешь полные легкие воздуха и когда кажется уже больше нет места, вдыхаешь еще. И внезапно ты начинаешь видеть сбитые ливнем лепестки под ногами сапог и небо с перспективы одуванчика, и садишься в окно пускать мыльные пузыри на закате и останавливаешься посмотреть на облака над Empire State Building. И понимаешь, что ведь ничего не изменилось, просто иногда случайный прохожий задевает тебя плечом, бегущую, смотрящую себе под ноги и ты оборачиваешься, поднимаешь удивленные глаза, а там небо, светлое и солнечное и ты улыбаешься.


The most difficult thing when starting to write a text is when thoughts are words; emotions pour out of you and become lines and you don't know where they begin and where they end. You feel every letter but find it difficult adding them up into words; it's like swimming against the stream- a familiar environment, that wont give in, casting you from wave to wave, leaving you adoring the feeling, even though you're clueless as to how to handle it. It's like driving fast with the sunroof open, when sun rays haven't yet warmed up the air, but you feel their warmth on your skin, you're both singing your favorite song, that you're only hearing for the second time in your life but already know that it's fast becoming the soundtrack of the weekend; or like laying on the grass, squinting, seeing the sun through your eyelids; it's like, in a dose, feeling the warm breath on your neck; like looking into the eyes and seeing the soul- you grasp it all, but words are not instrumental enough to express the feelings. And you simply look into the eyes and see the soul, breathe in with full capacity and when you feel that your lungs are full, you take inn one more sip of air. And suddenly, under your rubber boots' soles you see petals torn off by the rain and notice the sky from a dandelion's perspective, and you sit on the windowsill to blow soap bubbles into the sunset, and stop to watch the clouds over the Empire State Building. And then it hits you- nothing has changed, it's just that sometimes all it takes is a passerby to brush against your shoulder while you're rushing in a hurry, staring at your own feet, and you turn around, look up, astonished, and see the sky, it's sunny and bright, and you just smile.
